Below is an excerpt from the poem 'The Deep End' written for the 13th Church Anniversary of Kainos Community Church. Written and performed by Houston Spoken Word Artist and eldest son to Pastor Joe and Yolande Herron-Palmore, JoeP. 

I just now realized I’ve been looking in all the wrong places for the right direction.

And like many of us, I wish God would just show me the way / In my dreams, like inceptions / But see, that’s the common misconception

Because there are things that You need to do first / Before God can begin to teach you a lesson.

See it’s a blessing, to have the will to think on our own / Make decisions on our own / Make choices and suffer the consequences of them / On our own.

And no this ain’t just another ‘Oh how I love Jesus’ poem / But [just] some words of advice from the Creator of life / On how to live your life different from the norm.

...Just throw yourself out there into the deep / Trust that God has your back / You don’t need to see your feet...

...The evidence won’t just be in the size of the church, but in the people too...

...And Kainos for years has been leading people into the deep, / Whether they have returned or not / And plan on doing it forever, or atleast until God stops...
